The purpose of the intervention is to transform the building into a vertical public space, reorganizing its current condition through a system of
open spaces, terraces, balconies, and areas for social interaction.
The ground floor is redefined as a covered public plaza directly connected to the street, conceived as a continuation of the urban space.
Through selective demolitions, a double-height space is created, establishing a visual and spatial connection with the central patio.
The building is reconfigured as an open structural framework of columns and beams, allowing the slabs to be occupied by different programs in
a flexible and straightforward manner.
New window systems are set back from the façade, generating exterior balconies that provide solar protection
and facilitate maintenance. A similar strategy is applied to the façades facing the central patio.
Within the patio, a new circulation system of metal stairs and ramps connects both building volumes and simultaneously functions as an emergency
egress system for the entire complex. The bar is located on the second level, taking advantage of the auditorium roof as an exterior terrace.
At the top level, the two volumes are connected through the library, conceived as the most privileged space of the project, offering expansive views
of the city of Córdoba.
